I need a nap.
There's times in life when you must devote yourself to something you love. I love to eat burgers, so when I had an opportunity to do back to back burger nights, I had to jump on it. Sunday night I hit Bailey's Sports Grille in Canton - had their burger. Monday, after work, I met up with Kevin at Blimpy Burger - obviously had their burger. In my opinion, the health risk was worth it. If you are going to review burgers for a living, you've got to make it your top priority. As Kevin rolled me to the car yesterday, I was able to burp out one quick question: "Where are we headin' tomorrow?" -Lucas

We're stoked. Here's a video that's from Man v. Food. The very first segment features Blimpy Burger. Here's a picture of the inside of Krazy Jim's Blimpy Burger in Ann Arbor. We're pumped!
Here's a video segment from The Food Network's Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives. I drive by this place everyday. I waited a long time before they finally opened their doors. It took well over a year to build this place from the ground up. Rumor has it that Vinnie himself built this place with his own hands. Sometimes I would see someone working inside or a new addition to the building that would make me excited that the time is near.
Well, they finally opened and I couldn't wait for my dad or Lucas to go test it out, so I went on a night that I was home alone. No wife or kids, just burgers. It's a good slider. Many things can make the burger. In this case, the bun makes the burger. It's a potato bun and it's good. I told my dad and he came over the very next week and we got a sack of sliders to go. He would go back. There will be a full Burger Boys review in the near future. I'm going to need Lucas to check this place out for sure. ~Kevin Over in London, England, Nick Andrews has something really cool going. He's done a burger blog that reviews his area's burgers. On his site, Nick has a lot of cool graphics. We have asked him for his permission to use his Burger Scoring graphic and he has graciously agreed. We wanted to promote Nick's site for him, and I must say, it's definitely worth checking out.
So, if you are ever heading to London, make sure you bookmark Nick's site and try out some of his highest-reviewed burgers. Please dig around his site - he even has a store with a few neat aprons for sale. Here's his site: http://www.hamburger-me.com/ -Lucas The Burger Boys will be making an appearance at Casey's Tavern in Ann Arbor on Friday, January 20th. They will be reviewing the Casey's burger experience and expect to have a few refreshments while doing so. Both Kevin and Lucas will be joined by their lovely wives for the night.
~Kevin Tonight, I'm heading out to the Bridgewater Bank Tavern, a very unique establishment in Bridgewater, MI. Bridgewater, incase you've driven through and possibly missed it, lies in-between Saline and Manchester on Austin Road. In fact, it's probably the exact mid-point between the two towns. When traveling on Austin Road, you'll eventually hit a blinking red light - on the northwest corner is the Bridgewater Bank Tavern.
I'll be watching the MSU at UofM college basketball game and doing a burger review. What a nice combo. I'll take medium well and a Michigan win! -Lucas One time my Dad and I were watching a show on the Travel Channel featuring different burgers from around the country. The Juicy Lucy definitely stuck out, and on this episode of Man v. Food, Adam finds the original destination of this famous burger. The opening of this video showcases a meat-eaters challenge, but the first actual segment highlights the Juicy Lucy. -Lucas
Kevin and I used to work in the same building together. While getting to know each other, we quickly learned that we both enjoy a good burger. On work days, we'd sit and eat our lunch, telling different burger stories from our past.
Kevin had been telling me about Blimpy Burger in Ann Arbor, and it was stunning to think that I hadn't been there yet. With its close proximity and uniqueness in so many ways, it seemed like a no-brainer. So, we went one day, and another colleague joined us too. As we sat there discussing the burger and the style that only Blimpy Burger can bring, the Burger Boys were born. From there, whenever we hung out, we made it a point to go to a new burger joint together. We went to Roy's Barbeque and Hamburgers in Milan, Dan's Downtown Tavern in Saline, hit some corporate flair with Bailey's in Canton and Culver's in Belleville, and a few other burger stops were made along the way too. There's even a funny story involving catching each other at the Saline Burger King drive thru. We were both thinking the same thing: get a $1 double for the trip home. We laughed at the notion of actually starting a website or blog that included everything burger. It's now a reality and we're thrilled to share our love for the burger experience with everyone. -Lucas |
